Spring is passing by slowly and we are already at the beginning of May, it won't be long now that we will be left only with the breeding and resident birds. Nevertheless, it is not boring in the Hula even now! Many Eurasian Bee-eaters, Eurasian Rollers are here to stay (many breed in the area), Short-toed Snake Eagles are filling the sky most of the time and in this time of year we are still enjoying many Sand Martins, Great White Pelicans and thousands of Turtle Doves (among other species) on their way north. Collard Pratincoles are also around and pairs are starting to look for nest sites over the fields. This morning a pair of Black-headed Buntings was seen next to a canal not far from the "Agmon" together with one Short-toed Lark. And 2 Short-toed Eagles were caught, ringed and released by our ringing team.
